Woman Arrested In Fatal Hit-And-Run In East Haven, Victim IDed
Elizabeth Cronk, 45, was arrested and charged after police said she hit a pedestrian on East Haven's Main Street on Friday night.
EAST HAVEN, CT — Authorities have arrested and charged a woman in connection with a fatal hit-and-run collision in East Haven on Friday night, according to police, who also identified the pedestrian killed in the crash.
Elizabeth Cronk, 45, was arrested and charged with evading responsibility resulting in death and driving without a license after East Haven police said she fled the scene of a fatal hit-and-run that occurred near Main Street and Boston Avenue.
Authorities were dispatched to the area shortly before 10 p.m. after receiving a report that a pedestrian had been struck by a car.

When police arrived, they found 47-year-old Gina LaVacca suffering from life-threatening injuries. She was pronounced dead at the scene.
Police later determined the vehicle that hit her left following the collision. Officers canvassed the area and obtained surveillance video that showed a white hatchback-style vehicle striking LaVacca and fleeing east on Main Street.

Cronk is being held on a $250,000 surety bond and is scheduled to appear in court Monday.
