Woman Threatened to Blow Up DCF Building: Police

The New Haven woman was allegedly upset with a decision made by the DCF.

A New Haven woman is facing charges after State Police say she threatened to blow up the Department of Children and Families Building.

According to police, Nadine Diaz, 27 was unhappy with a decision made by the DCF.

Troopers from Troop-I Bethany responded to the report of the threat made against the DCF and their employees Thursday morning. Troopers began interviewing witnesses and initiated a criminal investigation.

Diaz was located at her residence with her young children. She was taken into custody and her children were turned over to the DCF.

Diaz was charged with first-degree threatening and second-degree breach of peace. She was released on a $7,500 bond and given a court date of Sept. 25.

The Department of Children and Families Building is located at 1 Longwharf Drive in New Haven.
