Zullo: Campaign Qualifies For $33K In Election Grant Funding
State Rep. Joe Zullo's campaign said it's raised enough money to qualify for the grant funding through the CT's Citizens Election Program.

EAST HAVEN, CT - Republican state Rep. Joe Zullo’s campaign announced Wednesday that it had raised enough money to qualify for more than $33,000 in grant funding through the state's Citizens Election Program for the November 2022 election cycle.
Zullo said that within days of announcing his reelection bid, he raised $5,975 from 175 unique contributors, qualifying his campaign to receive the grant money.
His campaign treasurer, and fiancée, Danelle Feeley, was quoted as saying that the money was raised after a “six-day blitz.”

“We've logged 175 total donations, including 165 qualifying donations from East Haven residents, putting the campaign well beyond the grant program's requirement of 150 qualifying contributions from town residents,” she said. “We've also surpassed the total fundraising threshold requirement of $5,80, which is impressive when you consider that the average donation was $34.14.”
According to the state Elections Enforcement Commission, for the 2022 election cycle participating candidates who collect a minimum of 150 qualifying contributions between $5 and $29 and who collect at least $5,800 in total donations, are eligible to receive a grant of up to $33,17 to run their campaigns.

Zullo said his campaign was “overwhelmed” by the support.
“I want to express my thanks not only to all the individuals who made contributions, but also to the team of friends and campaign workers who crisscrossed town to collect those contributions. It’s impossible to do alone,” he said.
