10,000 Diapers Collected Locally for Harvey Victims

Several local businesses chipped in to help a local mom's efforts.

ELLINGTON/SOMERS, CT — A truckload of diapers, wipes and other baby items was on its way to Texas on Monday after the community rallied behind a local mom's efforts to help those affected by Hurricane Harvey.

Organizer Ashley Austin, a mom herself, said about 10,000 diapers were donated, plus wipes and other items. Windsor's Fallon Moving and Storage picked up the diapers and was to deliver them to the Texas Diaper Bank, she said.
