12th Annual Child Safety Festival

FUN and important. Kids navigate a path to collect swag, do quick activities and get info from community experts.

At the 12th Annual Scitico Fall Fest – “Child Safety Day”, there are two new and exciting aspects. The first is a show for the kids from Ronald McDonald and the second is a dunk tank sponsored by Scitico Barber. This free community event will take place (rain or shine) on Sunday, October 12th from 2:00-4:00pm. It will be held in the Scitico Plaza located at 585 Hazard Avenue (Rte. 190) in Enfield, CT. There are many fun and educational activities that children and their families can enjoy. Safety booths for the children include: a fire truck from the Hazardville Fire Dept., Child IDs from the Enfield Police Explorers, a K-9 dog from the Connecticut Dept. of Corrections, the “Convincer” from the Connecticut State Police, and “Operation Lifesaver” from the Connecticut Dept. of Transportation (promoting railroad safety). Change in Action will be hosting Anti-Bullying games for children inside Integrity Martial Arts’ studio. Free car seat safety checks by a certified technician are also available by appointment only (with a limited amount of spots available).

Entertainment will include: a visit from Ronald McDonald and demonstrations from the students of Integrity Martial Arts and Kathy’s Dance Dynamics. There will be children’s games and door prizes too! Additional organizations who are participating: Family Dollar, Club Fitness, Lewin’s Bridal, Scitico Barber, Konnect with Kicks, Scitico McDonald’s, Bill Corbett’s Cooperative Kids, the Shaker Pines Fire Dept and Change in Action. At Scitico Barber’s Dunk Tank booth, they are asking people to donate 8” of hair or more for the charity “Children With Hair Loss” (http://www.childrenwithhairloss.us). If you have any questions, or wish to make an appointment for a car seat safety check, please call Janice Morton at 860-698-9226.
