2 Hospitalized After Apartment Fire at Somers Senior Housing Complex
An automatic fire alarm was received at 1:04 a.m. Sunday.

Somers, CT - The Somers Fire Department responded to an apartment fire early Sunday morning at Woodcrest Senior Housing, located at 75 Battle Street.
According to Fire Chief John Roache, firefighters were dispatched to an automatic fire alarm at 1:04 a.m., where units discovered heavy smoke in a second floor apartment. The fire was confined to one room by the automatic fire sprinkler system, and crews were able to quickly put out any remaining fire.
The occupant of that apartment did have to be rescued by bystanders and fire personnel. They were then transported to Johnson Memorial Hospital, Roache said.
