5K Race At Ellington Airport To Support Connecticut ALS Association

Run the Runway Race in memory of Tom Dore takes place at Ellington Airport. Prizes, raffles, refreshments and more. Register today.

Tom Dore’s Run the Runway 5K Race and events will take place Friday, June 16th from 6-9 pm at the Ellington Airport, 360 Somers Rd. Ellington. Connecticut Parachutists Inc will be open at 12:00 pm and will be operating until race time. Everyone is encouraged to come out early to picnic, hike, make a tandem skydive, or just have fun observing jump demonstrations. The race begins at 6:00.

Tandem jump reservations can be made at www.skydivect.com or by calling 860-871-0021. Pre-race day registration is encouraged and can be done online via this link. Same-day registration for the race begins at 4 pm at the airport.

All proceeds from the event will benefit the CT ALS Association with 100% of the proceeds donated in the name of Tom Dore. Tom, an avid runner and skydiver, passed away from ALS in 2017.

All runners can enjoy free refreshments including hot dogs, fruits and smores at the fire pit after the race. There will be a free raffle prize drawing for all entrants who have a bib number.
