Accused Ellington Murderer Has 2 Months to File Accounting Report
Judges recently announced a deadline and continuance in an Ellington murder-probate case against Richard Dabate.

VERNON/ELLINGTON, CT — Accused murderer Richard Dabate has been given 60 days to account for where his late-wife's money went, court records indicate.
The order was given on Friday and covers the past 17 months, according to court records.
Dabate also filed an appearance in criminal court and had his murder case continued to Jan. 19, court records indicate. Dabate is accused of killing his wife, Connie Dabate, on Dec. 23, 2015.

A motion requesting a full accounting of Connie Dabate's finances has been filed by her sister, Marilese Shaw, who took over the estate in May after Richard Dabate was removed as executor.
A court official said Connie Dabate had $76,958.07 to her name shortly after her death, but her accounts show now show a balance of $6.42.

Connie Dabate was 39 at the time of her death. Court records show she left all assets to her husband. The will was finalized before either of her two boys, now ages 9 and 6, were born, records show.
Richard Dabate is free on a $1 million bond.
