After-Prom Party Leads to Charges for Ellington Woman

A teen was charged with drunken driving in a related arrest, state police said.

ELLINGTON, CT — A 51-year-old woman has been charged with illegally delivering liquor to minors following an after-prom party, state police said.

Ellington High School's prom was Friday. On Saturday at 12:15 a.m., state police were informed that a large party was taking place featuring juveniles at 250 Mountain Road, according to an arrest report.

State police said they were told that minors were consuming alcoholic beverages and that the party was celebrating the prom.

When troopers arrived at the scene, alcoholic beverages were in plain view and youths began scurrying into a wooded area, according to an arrest report.

Police then arrested Cecelia Stone, 51, of that address, according to a police report. She was present at the party and aware of the drinking, state police said. In addition to the alcohol charge, she was charged with risk of injury to a minor and disorderly conduct, state police records indicate.

A $10,000 bond was in the balance for her scheduled court appearance on Monday, state police said. A judge upheld it and she failed to post, according to a clerk at Rockville Superior Court. She is due in court again on June 5, according to a clerk at the court.

A 17-year-old was also arrested while en route to the party and charged with driving under the influence, a "tire and wheel requirement" violation, possession of drug paraphernalia, narcotics possession, state police said.

The 17-year-old had a 16- and 14-year-old as passengers, state police said.
