ELLINGTON, CT — A parachutist was taken to the hospital Thursday evening after a hard landing at the Ellington Airport landing zone, according to a fire official.
Ellington Fire Deputy Chief of Training Karl Neubecker said firefighters were dispatched around 6 p.m. for an injured parachutist at the landing zone.
The parachutist was hurt because of a hard landing, Neubecker said in an email to Patch.
The person was evaluated and transported to Hartford Hospital, but did not appear to have significant injuries, Neubecker said.
No additional details were immediately available.
