SOMERS, CT — Registration is open for the 20th annual SOMLAX Boys & Girls Lacrosse Camp.
The camp, offered through Somers Lacrosse Association and Somers Recreation & Leisure Services, is open to boys and girls entering grades 4 through 9 in the fall.
The camp will run Monday, July 6, through Thursday, July 9, at MBA Fields. Friday, July 10, is reserved as a makeup date in case of inclement weather.
Ken McCarthy, who has served as varsity lacrosse coach at Somers High School for more than 30 years, and his staff will lead the camp. According to the program listing, the camp is designed to provide a safe environment where players of all ages and ability levels can have fun, improve their game, and learn fundamental skills, advanced tactics, and lacrosse techniques.
Boys will need a stick, helmet, gloves, shoulder pads and arm pads. Girls will need a stick and eye protection.
The first 40 registrants will receive a free camp jersey if they register by June 22, according to the program listing.
