Police Presence Planned At Ellington High School

ELLINGTON, CT — Residents may notice a large police and emergency response presence at Ellington High School this week, but town officials said there is no cause for alarm.

The Connecticut State Police, fire officials and the Resident Troopers Office are hosting active threat training at Ellington High School from 8 a.m. to 3 p.m. Monday, June 22, through Friday, June 26, according to the Town of Ellington.

The training is planned, officials said.

“Don’t be alarmed if you notice a large police/emergency response presence at EHS throughout the week,” town officials said in a notice to residents.

The training is being held at Ellington High School, 37 Maple St.

A separate training notice from the Connecticut Department of Emergency Services and Public Protection said the course is designed to improve coordination between law enforcement, fire, emergency medical services and dispatch personnel during active threat incidents.
