ELLINGTON, CT — Members of Ellington Congregational Church’s high school youth group will share stories from their recent mission trip during Sunday’s 10 a.m. service.
The student-led T.E.L.O.S. group traveled to Altoona, Pennsylvania, where participants have been working at the Precious Life Pregnancy Center through Lighthouse Ministries and TEAMeffort. Their current project includes installing new flooring at the center, according to the church.
The group has previously taken construction-focused mission trips to Tennessee, Georgia and North Carolina. Students have helped build decks, paint homes and install water lines during past trips.
Along with service projects, the teens participate in leadership opportunities, fundraising and weekly meetings. The program is open to high school students from Ellington and surrounding communities, regardless of church membership or affiliation.
Registration for the next T.E.L.O.S. program year is expected to open soon. The church invited community members to attend Sunday’s service to hear students discuss meaningful and memorable moments from the trip.
