Route 140 Closed In Ellington

Drivers are urged to detour as crews address the hazard; no reopening time was immediately available.

ELLINGTON, CT — A tree on utility wires has closed Route 140 in Ellington.

Crystal Lake Road is closed between Pinnacle and Hopkins roads after the large tree came down and was left hanging over the roadway, according to the Ellington Volunteer Fire Department.

Drivers are being asked to avoid the area and use alternate routes. Fire officials did not immediately provide an estimated reopening time or information about potential power outages.
