• Several Connecticut towns make the switch to four-day municipal work weeks (newenglandnewspress.com) — Ellington residents now have a four-day town office schedule, with employees working 40 hours Monday through Thursday and enjoying three-day weekends since August 2022. The town is part of a growing group of Connecticut municipalities, including Vernon and Plainville, that are compressing hours to improve hiring and extend weekday access to services while closing offices on Fridays.
