Somers Congregational Church's Champ's Place, their Food Pantry (located in the Bugbee Center) is open from 10 a.m. to 12 noon on Monday mornings throughout the year. In addition to providing nonperishable food items to people in need, they also provide some frozen food and fresh fruit and vegetables when they are in season. They also keep gently-used clothing and small household items that have been donated for distribution to people in need.
Donating nonperishable food and toiletries is the simplest way to become involved at Champ’s Place, there is always a need. Champ’s Place also has a pretty consistent need for volunteers to assist clients on Monday mornings and at other times to help sorting and shelving the various items that come in.
