Area Teams In Semifinals Of Soccer, Volleyball, Field Hockey Tourneys
Of the 60 teams competing in soccer, volleyball and field hockey semifinals this week, 14 are from schools in Hartford and Tolland counties.
HARTFORD-TOLLAND COUNTIES, CT — With championship weekend looming for Connecticut high school soccer, volleyball and field hockey squads, 60 teams have advanced to the state semifinals, which kick off Tuesday. Of those 60 semifinalists, 14 hail from schools in Hartford and Tolland counties.
Three area schools will be represented in two semifinals: Ellington (boys soccer, girls soccer), Glastonbury (field hockey, girls soccer) and Wethersfield (field hockey, girls soccer). West Hartford has two schools competing in semifinals: Hall (boys soccer) and Northwest Catholic (girls soccer).
Of the area teams still alive, Ellington boys soccer is the lone No. 1 seed remaining. The Knights will match up against Tolland on Tuesday, marking the only game between two teams from the region.
