ELLINGTON-SOMERS, CT — Here are some recent notable accomplishments by local college students, as provided by readMedia Newswire.

Eastern Connecticut State University, Willimantic CT

• The Eastern Chamber Singers at Eastern Connecticut State University is amid its spring 2019 season of performance. The Chamber Choir is a vocal ensemble comprised of 20-25 auditioned singers from departments throughout the University. Among the singers is Ryan Michaud of Ellington, who majors in Music and sings Bass. He also sings Baritone in the Concert Chorale, a vocal ensemble comprised of choral and orchestral masterworks.

Manchester Community College, Manchester CT

• Casey Noller of Ellington and Daniel Rockett of Somers were named to the full-time President's List for the fall 2018 semester. Part-time President's List honorees were Matthew Becker, Amy Bernabe, Lisa Bucklin, Jolanta Cimochowska, Dardan Gjonbalaj, Christina Govoni, Eric Jenkins, Sean Milligan, Katharine Murphy, Christian Nelson, Rachael Noble and Elizabeth Shermer, all of Ellington, as well as Corey
  Arcari, Lance Luzey and Victoria Pryputniewicz, all of Somers. This recognizes the exceptional scholarship of full- and part-time students who earn a 4.0 or “A” grade point average in their courses. Full-time students who have completed at least 12 credits for the semester with no withdrawals or incomplete grades in the semester are eligible for this honor. Part-time students who have earned a 4.0 GPA with no withdrawals or incompletes in the semester - and have accumulated 12 credits at MCC - are eligible for the Part-Time President’s List.
• A number of local students made the Dean's List at MCC for the fall 2018 semester. Honorees from Ellington are Joudi Alrz, Caitlin Burke, Serena Carl, Madison Dexter, Richard Dorman, Brandon Dubiskas, Maxwell Gale, Julia Giachello, Melanie Keroack, Cameron McGinnis, Denise Millane, Tiffany Morissette, Evan Niger, Jennah Schlude, Michelle Seitz, Zachary Webber and Tong Ye. Somers honorees are Jillian Berger, James Chaisson, William Fraher and Sarah Schulz. Full-time students enrolled in 12 credits or more and who have earned a GPA of 3.4 with no withdrawals or incomplete grades in that semester are eligible for the Dean’s List. Part-time students are eligible for recognition with the same criteria when they have completed 12 or more credits of work with a cumulative GPA of 3.4 or higher.
