ELLINGTON-SOMERS, CT — Here are some recent notable accomplishments by local college students, as provided by readMedia Newswire.

Clemson University, Clemson SC

• Annika R. Nordmark of Ellington has been named to the President's List at Clemson University. Nordmark, whose major is Food Science and Human Nutrition, made the President's List for the spring 2019 semester. To be named to the President's List, a student must achieve a 4.0 (all As) grade-point average.
• Brandon Lewis Bogrette of Ellington has been named to the Dean's List at Clemson University. Bogrette, whose major is Mathematical Sciences, made the Dean's List for the spring 2019 semester. To be named to the Dean's List, a student achieved a grade-point average between 3.50 and 3.99 on a 4.0 scale.

Eastern Connecticut State University, Willimantic CT

• Eastern Connecticut State University's Business Administration Department held its annual Delta Mu Delta International Business Honor Society induction on April 23 in the Johnson Room of the J. Eugene Smith Library. Among the inductees was Kristen Munson of Somers, who majors in Finance. To qualify for Delta Mu Delta, members must hold a minimum cumulative GPA of at least 3.25 in the business administration major and be in the top 20 percent of their junior or senior class.

Stonehill College, Easton MA

• Three local residents made the spring 2019 Dean's List at Stonehill College. They are Melanie Bonneau, a member of the Class of 2019 from Somers; Erin Breen, a member of the Class of 2019 from Ellington; and Olivia Gionet, a member of the Class of 2021 from Ellington. To qualify for the Dean's List, students must have a semester grade point average of 3.50 or better and must have completed successfully all courses for which they were registered.

University of Rhode Island, Kingston RI

• The University of Rhode Island is pleased to announce the spring 2019 Dean's List, which includes 11 residents of Ellington and Somers. To be included on the Dean's List, full-time students must have completed 12 or more credits for letter grades during a semester and achieved at least a 3.30 quality point average. Honorees from Ellington are Mariah Beermann, Melody Crane, Tyler Daly, Brianna DeLand, Johnny Pasini, Dominic Scata and Emily Walker. Somers residents on the list are Spencer Beebe, Syd Graham, Tyler Hannan and Amanda Lefemine.

University of Scranton, Scranton PA

• Two Ellington residents were among more than 1,650 students named to The University of Scranton's Dean's List for the 2019 spring semester. The Dean's List recognizes students for academic excellence. A student must have a grade point average of 3.5 or better with a minimum number of credit hours during the semester to make the Dean's List. Ellington students on the list were Madeline M. Meaney, a senior biochemistry, cell, molecular biology major in the University's College of Arts and Sciences, and Erin R. Meaney, a junior nursing major in the University's Panuska College of Professional Studies.
