The event benefits two former Ellington High School student athletes. One young man, Troy Russell was paralyzed in a swimming accident in 2012 and the other, Austin Tautkus was tragically killed in a work related accident in 2013. The funds benefit Troy's continued rehabilitation as well as memorial scholarship in Austin's name at Ellington High School as well as Western Connecticut State University where he played football.
