Participants Sought For Parental Bereavement Study

A Seton Hall University Study is looking for participants to help improve the quality of care that parents receive after experiencing the death of a child.

Christine Denhup is a compassionate caring woman who has worked hard to learn how to help others.  She has earned those many sets of initials after her name ~  MSN, APRN, CPNP, CPON  and is also currently a Doctoral (PhD) Nursing Student at the College of Nursing, Seton Hall University.  I know her through The Compassionate Friends.

Christine is involved in a study for parental bereavement.  She  is actively seeking a group who would be willing to share their bereavement issues and to discuss any medical care that their children were given, and how they were treated by the medical community after the death of their child. Involvement in the study can be by phone, email or in person.

The purpose of the study is to better understand what it is like for parents after their child dies.  Christine would like to talk with parents to learn and then help educate nurses, teaching how to provide better care for mothers and fathers after the death of a child in the future.

A note from Christine"... I am actively seeking mothers and fathers who would like to participate in my parental bereavement study.  A reminder that the criteria to participate is mothers and fathers who experienced the death of their child (between the ages of 0-18 years) at least 1 year ago.  Should you know of anyone who may be interested, please have them contact me via email (christine.denhup@student.shu.edu) or telephone (203-257-6202).   Also, if there are any parents who attend your support group meetings and may be interested, I would gladly come to a meeting to talk with them either before or after the meeting and answer any questions they may have.  "
