Join us for an important community training focused on saving lives and increasing awareness around opioid overdose prevention.
John Lally of Today I Matter will lead an educational session and hands-on NARCAN® training designed for all members of the community.
This training is open to everyone, including parents, college students, volunteers, business owners, and professionals.

This Memorial Day, the Somers Department of Veterans Affairs and the Legacy of Service: Somers Veterans Foundation, Inc. invite the community to gather for a morning of remembrance, reflection, and connection at the Veterans Coffeehouse Memorial Day Event.
In a time when our nation continues to honor generations of service, this event offers a quiet yet powerful space to share stories that shaped lives and communities. Guests are invited to reflect on the question, “Who are you remembering today?” and to contribute their memories to the Remembrance Board, a dignified display where every card tells a story of courage, sacrifice, and love. There will also be other events, to include a selfie photo booth with prompts and an information table introducing the non profit, Legacy of Service, to the community.
The Veterans Coffeehouse is more than a gathering-it’s a living tribute. Through shared reflection, we honor those who served and those who carried their legacy forward. Each conversation, each memory, becomes part of a collective remembrance that bridges generations.

Memorial Day Veterans Coffeehouse: Every Story Matters

The Somers Department of Veterans Affairs, in partnership with Legacy Of Service: Somers Veterans Foundation, Inc. and the Somers Veterans &amp; Families Legacy Park Ad Hoc Committee, invites the community to attend a special Memorial Day Veterans Coffeehouse on Saturday, May 30, 2026, from 8:30 AM to 11:30 AM at the Somers Town Hall Auditorium, 600 Main Street, Somers, Connecticut. 
 
This meaningful community gathering will honor veterans, military families, caregivers, and the enduring legacy of service and sacrifice that has shaped our nation across generations. 
 
The event will feature special participation by the Daughters of the American Revolution (DAR), helping connect America’s founding ideals and history with the service and sacrifices of today’s veterans and military families as the nation approaches the 250th anniversary of the United States. 
 
Community members are encouraged to bring a 3x5 photo of a loved one, veteran, family member, or friend who has passed away so their memory may be honored on the event Memory Board display. Photos are encouraged to be submitted prior to the event if possible. 
 
The Memorial Day Coffeehouse will include: 
 
• Community Memory Board Tribute Display 
• Patriotic Photo Booth 
• Veterans and Family Fellowship 
• Informational table featuring the Somers Department of Veterans Affairs and Legacy of Service: Somers Veterans Foundation, Inc. 
• Information regarding veterans' programs, nonprofit-sponsored events, and the Somers Veterans &amp; Families Legacy Park flagship project 
• Promotional and commemorative items supporting veterans' initiatives 
• Opportunities to donate in support of veterans' projects and community outreach efforts 
 
The event is free and open to the public. Veterans, families, caregivers, and community members are welcome. 
 
Donations supporting veterans’ programs and projects may currently be made by cash, check, or money order only, as electronic payment systems are still being established.

The <a href="https://CCRKBA.org/fac" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">Firearms Advocacy Conference</a> will bring together some of the top minds and staunchest advocates from the New England states to discuss legislation, litigation, lobbying, and more!
