Vintage &amp; Antique Market Returns to the Nellie McKnight Museum
Treasure hunters and history lovers are invited to the annual Vintage and Antique Market on Saturday, May 2, from 8 a.m. to 1 p.m. at the Nellie McKnight Museum, 70 Main Street in Ellington. Admission is free.
Hosted by the Ellington Historical Society, the popular event features a variety of vendors offering antiques, vintage finds, collectibles, home décor, and unique items from the past. Visitors can browse for one-of-a-kind treasures and enjoy the historic 1812 house museum.&nbsp;&nbsp;
The Vintage and Antique Market has become a favorite spring tradition, attracting collectors and casual shoppers alike who enjoy discovering pieces with history and character.

James M. Long photographed the Mt. Tom Ski Area and researched its history to assemble a book which seeks to celebrate the Ski Area’s legacy and impact on the community by examining its past and present through both the camera’s eye and historical record.
Over 100 original photographs plus 175+ pull quotes from regional newspapers illustrate and celebrate the lasting contributions that the Daniel J. O’Connell family and everyone associated with the success of the Ski Area accomplished.&nbsp;
The book was published in February of 2026 and is available at regional independent booksellers, and mttomskibook.com. 
A book launch will be held at the DCR Holyoke Heritage State Park Visitor's Center on May 2nd from 1-3pm. No admission or RSVP required.

Somers Department of Veterans Affairs

The Somers Department of Veterans Affairs is proud to announce a FREE Veterans Benefits Seminar to be held on Thursday, May 14, 2026, from 9:00 AM to 3:00 PM at the Somers Town Hall Auditorium, 600 Main Street, Somers, CT. This free seminar, hosted in partnership with the Disabled American Veterans (DAV) organization, will provide valuable information about benefits available to veterans and their families.
DAV’s highly trained National Service Officers from VA Newington, CT will be on-site to explain the benefits earned through service and sacrifice, and to assist attendees with claims and documentation. Veterans are encouraged to bring their military ID, Social Security number, and relevant service records/evidentiary information.
