The Somers Cultural Commission presents The 60s Experience, featuring hit songs of the 1960s and 1970s.
Location: The Gazebo, 19 Battle Street, Somers.
Admission is free; donations to the Somers Cultural Commission gratefully accepted. Lawn chairs and picnics encouraged. In the event of rain or excessive heat, the concert will be held at the Somers Knights of Columbus Pavilion, 236 Main Street, Somers. Portable sanitized restrooms available for outdoor concerts and indoor restrooms for indoor concerts. Plenty of parking available. Accessible seating available. If feeling ill, kindly stay home.

The Connecticut State Police Troop C and Major Crime will host a Coin Drop event from 7-11 a.m. Aug. 14 on Route 83 near Big Y in Ellington to benefit Special Olympics Connecticut. During the event, law enforcement officers volunteer their time collecting coins and cash to support Special Olympics Connecticut.

The 90th Hartford County 4-H Fair returns to 56 Egypt Road in Somers, CT, August 14–16, celebrating 90 fairs of 4-H tradition and community.
Enjoy livestock and 4-H exhibits, food trucks, live music, robotics, kids’ activities, demonstrations, and more. On Saturday from 10:00 AM–2:00 PM, visitors can get up close with big vehicles at Touch-a-Truck, featuring utility vehicles, tractors, garbage trucks, and more. Barrel train and wagon rides, Doodlebug pulls, a horse draw, and the 90th Fair Celebration are also part of the weekend.
Fair hours are 8:00 AM–9:30 PM Friday and Saturday and 8:00 AM–5:00 PM Sunday. Admission is $7, seniors $4, and free for military with ID and children 3 and under. Parking is free.
