Somers Schools to Honor Local Veterans on Veterans Day, November 11
SOMERS, CT — Somers High School and Mabelle B. Avery Middle School will proudly recognize our nation's veterans during special Veterans Day assemblies on Wednesday, November 11, 2026.
These student-centered ceremonies offer an opportunity to honor the courage, service, and sacrifices of our military veterans while helping younger generations understand the importance of remembering those who served.
Local veterans are encouraged to participate and submit their names and photographs for inclusion on the schools' Veterans Honor Wall, a meaningful tribute recognizing members of our military community.
The Somers Department of Veterans Affairs is pleased to help spread the word and extends heartfelt appreciation to the students, faculty, and administrators for their efforts to ensure our veterans are remembered and celebrated.
Veterans interested in participating or being recognized on the Honor Wall are encouraged to review the attached flyer for RSVP and submission information.
To our Somers veterans: Thank you for your service. Your stories matter, and your community remembers.
