American International College, Springfield MA
- American International College awarded more than 600 undergraduate and graduate degrees to students representing 22 states and nine countries at the 134th Commencement on May 11, 2019. Mary Iovine, of Ellington, received a graduate degree in Middle School Education, and Yuri Troshin, of Somers, received a graduate degree in Family Nurse Practitioner. Ajay Deonarine, of Somers, received a bachelor's degree in Health Science. Kristen Joseph, of Somers, received a bachelor's degree in Sociology. Stephanie Millette, of Ellington, received a bachelor's degree in Nursing (RN to BSN Track). Muoi Petruff, of Somers, received a bachelor's degree in Nursing. Laura Schneider, of Ellington, received a bachelor's degree in Nursing.
- American International College (AIC) has named 463 students to the spring 2019 Dean's List. Dean's List students are full time students who have achieved a 3.3 to 4.0 GPA. Among those recognized are Ariana Dicioccio and Laura Schneider, both of Ellington, and Avery Foye and Kristen Joseph, both of Somers.

- Curry College is proud to announce that Jessica Allard of Somers, and Katie Bartlett and Hannah Mozzer of Ellington have been named to the Dean's List for the spring 2019 semester. To qualify for the Dean's List, students must earn a 3.30 GPA, have no incompletes, and have no grade lower than a "C" for the semester.
Eastern Connecticut State University, Willimantic CT
- Eastern Connecticut State University's English Department held its annual English Night on May 7. English Night is an event put on by the English Department to honor outstanding student work and act as a platform for seniors to present their Capstone Projects. Among the students was Caroline Friedman of Ellington, who majors in English and presented her capstone poster titled "'The Agenda': The Goal of Female Comedians."
University of Vermont, Burlington VT

- Some 3,275 students, including one each from Somers and Ellington, were awarded degrees during the University of Vermont's 218th commencement ceremonies. Zachary Beebe of Somers graduated with a Bachelor of Science degree in Mechanical Engineering, and Philip Nicolescu of Ellington graduated with a Bachelor of Science degree in Mechanical Engineering.
