American International College, Springfield MA

• Muoi Petruff, of Somers, received the Rex's Best Award from American International College (AIC) at the college's Cocurricular Awards Ceremony this spring. The Rex's Best Award is presented to juniors and seniors who have demonstrated personal growth through sustained leadership in clubs, organizations, athletics and/or in the community while serving as positive role models both inside and outside of the classroom. Rex is the AIC mascot.

Western New England University, Springfield MA

• Western New England University congratulates over 600 students, including six from Ellington and Somers, who received their academic degrees during May commencement ceremonies. Alexander J. Coverdill of Somers graduated Summa Cum Laude with a BSE in Mechanical Engineering; Carling S. Willis of Ellington graduated with a Bachelor of Arts in English; Jenna L. Ferguson of Ellington graduated with a BSW in Social Work; Kristen R. Breen of Ellington graduated Summa Cum Laude with a BS Business Administration in Sport Management; Lindsey E.
