Campus Notes: College Students From Ellington, Somers

ELLINGTON-SOMERS, CT — Here are some recent notable accomplishments by local college students, as provided by readMedia Newswire.

Roger Williams University, Bristol RI

• Three Somers residents were among the students who received their degrees in May as part of the Class of 2019. Nicole Hanna graduated with a degree in B.A. in Psychology, Adam Patsun graduated with a degree in B.S. in Construction Management, and Leeza Regulbuto graduated Cum Laude with a degree in B.A. in Dance.

University of Rhode Island, Kingston RI

• At the University of Rhode Island's 133rd Commencement on Saturday and Sunday, May 18-19, 2019, about 3,400 undergraduate and 740 graduate students became the University's newest alumni. Local graduates were Mariah Lee Beermann of Ellington, Bachelor of Science in Nursing (RN to BS); Tyler Daly of Ellington, Bachelor of Science in Business Administration, Management; and Emily Roche of Somers, Bachelor of Science Human Development and Family Studies and Bachelor of Arts Elementary Education Summa Cum Laude. Students who received the honor summa cum laude graduated with a cumulative grade point average (GPA) of at least 3.7; students who received the honor of magna cum laude graduated with a GPA of at least 3.50; and students who received the honor of cum laude graduated with a GPA of at least 3.3.
