ELLINGTON-SOMERS, CT — Here are some recent notable accomplishments by local college students, as provided by readMedia Newswire.

Bates College, Lewiston ME

• Amanda Kaufman of Somers has received 2018-19 NESCAC Spring All-Academic honors. The daughter of Mr. Donald E. Kaufman and Dr. Valerie R. Kaufman, she is a 2017 graduate of Somers High School. She is majoring in psychology and gender and sexuality studies at Bates. Kaufman, a member of the women's track & field team, is one of 68 students from Bates College's spring sports teams who received the honor from the New England Small College Athletic Conference. To be honored, a student-athlete must have reached sophomore academic standing and be a varsity letter winner with a cumulative grade point average of at least 3.50 (raised from 3.40 a year ago).

Dean College, Franklin MA

• Dean College is pleased to announce that Ethan Lessard of Somers has earned a place on the Dean's List for the spring 2019 semester.

Lasell College, Newton MA

• Lisa Pare of Ellington, a IDS Curriculum & Instruction major at Lasell College, was named to the spring 2019 Dean's List. She achieved a semester GPA of 3.5 or higher with at least 12 completed credits to merit this accomplishment.
