Charter Revision Application Deadline Approaching in Ellington
A commission is forming.

ELLINGTON, CT — Residents who want to be part of the town's next Charter Revision Commission need to complete and submit a Statement of Interest by June 9, town officials said.
The Ellington Board of Selectmen is scheduled to establish a Charter Revision Commission at its June 12 meeting. The Charter Revision Commission will be instructed to consider recommended changes/additions in the Ellington’s Town Charter as it deems necessary or desirable.
The Board of Selectmen is seeking citizens interested in serving on this Commission. Interested citizens must complete a Statement of Interest Form, available in the First Selectman’s Office (860-870-3100) or on the website at ellington-ct.gov.

The Commission will consist of seven electors, appointed by the Board of Selectmen. Not more than one-third may hold another Town of Ellington public office, with a bare majority from the same political party.
The Commission’s draft report will be due no later than 16 months from date of appointment, and the Commission will terminate upon acceptance or rejection of its final report by the Board of Selectmen.
