Clean Up Ellington In Celebration Of Earth Day

Trash bags are available to pick up for residents and community groups to participate in Clean Up Ellington in celebration of Earth Day

Town residents and community groups in Ellington are encouraged to participate in a town-wide clean-up day in celebration of Earth Day on Saturday, April 23. Garbage bags can be obtained at the Town Hall, Public Works, Senior Center, and Hall Memorial Library. Residents are encouraged to collect roadside trash in their neighborhoods, favorite town park, school athletic field or hiking trail. Trash bags can be deposited in the dumpster provided in the parking lot of the Congregational Church, Main St., from 10 AM to 2 PM that day. Please use a separate bag for returnables as Cub Scout Pack 96 is collecting bottles and cans at the same location that day.

In addition a ‘Shred-It Truck’ will be accepting up to two boxes of paper per person for shredding from 10 am to 1 pm in the Congregational Church parking lot.

Earthlight Technologies is providing a truck for the collection of used clothing, textiles and small household items. Please limit household items to one box or a single item no bigger than 4'x4' and two bags of clothing per household
