College Accomplishments By Ellington, Somers Students

ELLINGTON-SOMERS, CT — Here are some recent notable accomplishments by local college students, as provided by readMedia Newswire.

American International College, Springfield MA

• American International College (AIC) has named 460 students to the fall 2019 Dean's List. Dean's List students have achieved a 3.3 to 4.0 GPA. Among the honorees are Betsy Hany and Ariana Dicioccio, both of Ellington.

Assumption College, Worcester MA

• During the month-long winter break, Tesia Burzynski, of Somers, participated in a week-long service immersion trip through Assumption College's SEND program. Burzinski was a member of the group that traveled to Trenton, NJ, where students participated in a retreat facilitated by the organization FaithJustice. Students served at a social justice education center as well as spent time helping strengthen the local community by volunteering at Carolyn Stokes Preschool, Sprout University, TASK, and Visitation Home.

Bucknell University, Lewisburg PA

• Emma Dolen, a Chemistry major in the class of 2020, from Ellington, was named to the dean's list at Bucknell University during the fall semester of the 2019-20 academic year. A student must earn a grade point average of 3.5 or higher on a scale of 4.0 to receive dean's list recognition.

University of Vermont, Burlington VT

• Katrina Seeberger of Ellington and Christian Walker of Somers have been named to the dean's list for the fall 2019 semester. To be named to the dean's list at the University of Vermont, students must have a grade-point average of 3.0 or better and rank in the top 20 percent of their class in their respective college or school.
