Bryant University, Smithfield RI

  • McKenzie Kozma, class of 2020, from Ellington, has been named to the President's List for the spring 2019 semester. The President's List is an academic distinction reserved for Bryant's highest achievers who earn a GPA of 4.0 or better for at least 12 semester hours of work.
  • Bryant University is pleased to recognize the students from Ellington and Somers who have been named to the Deans' List for the spring 2019 semester.   • Goodwin College announces that 992 students achieved Dean's List status for the spring 2019 session, including Jennifer Huss of Somers. Honorees from Ellington were Eyleen Blier, Ashley Dunphy, Breanna Gottier, Gretchen Hendrick, Brittany Hey, Charisse Jalbert, Taylor Kibby, Chandler Myers, Nageswari Rajendran, Kierra Shain, Derrick Toce, Crystal Tracy and Kari Zaushny.

Springfield College, Springfield MA

  • At the undergraduate commencement on May 19, 695 bachelor's degrees were awarded. Including the degrees awarded at the graduate ceremony on May 18, a total of 1,265 degrees were awarded over the two days. At the graduate commencement, 522 master's degrees, one certificate of advanced graduate study, five Doctor of Philosophy degrees, 36 Doctor of Physical Therapy degrees, and six Doctor of Psychology degrees were awarded. Graduates from Somers were Samantha Bastarache, bachelor's of science degree in Health Care Management; Zachary Varnauskas, bachelor's of science degree in Health Science Pre-Physical Therapy; Alaina Murphy, bachelor's of science degree in Health Science Pre-Physical Therapy; Alec Kapino, bachelor's of science degree in Health Science Pre-Physician Assistant; Kenneth McCarthy, bachelor's of science degree in Health Science Pre-Physician Assistant; Ashley Wright, master's of science degree in Physician Assistant; and Erin Eastwood, bachelor's of science degree in Rehabilitation and Disability Studies. Caitlin Haworth of Ellington earned a master's of science degree in Exercise Science and Sport Studies.
  • Springfield College has named the following area students to the Dean's List for academic excellence for the 2019 spring semester. Criteria for selection to the dean's list requires that the student must have a minimum semester grade point average of 3.500 for the semester.
