Community Reaching Out to Family of Ellington Student Killed in Crash
A Go-Fund-Me Account has been set up and Ellington High School is to be open Monday.

ELLINGTON, CT — A Go-Fund-Me has been set up to help the family of an Ellington High School student who was killed in a car crash Saturday night.
As of 10:49 Sunday night, $8,740 was pledged on a goal of $10,000.
Memorials had been set up near the crash site in Plainville.

The student was identified as Olivia Wentworth in a moving message to the community from Superintendent of Schools Scott Nicol:
"It is with a heavy heart that I contact you," he said. "Last night, Ellington High School student Olivia Wentworth passed away in a tragic car accident. It is during times of tragedy that the Ellington family pulls together."

Ellington High School will be open Monday at 8:30 a.m. for students and others who wish to support one another, he said.
School counselors and staff will be on hand.
"Our collective prayers and thoughts go out to Olivia's family and loved ones," Nichol said.
The message on the Go-Fund-M Account read:
"Olivia Joy Wentworth was taken from this earth as a result of a tragic car accident. A beautiful young lady with golden hair and sparkling eyes, with an equally sparkling personality! It is inconceivable how something like this can happen, and we pray, offer love and support to the family when something this devastating happens, especially to someone so young. Please consider helping the family with a donation towards funeral expenses. Your generosity, no matter the size, will be appreciated with gratitude from Robin, Scott and the entire Paterno/Wentworth families.Thank you all so much!"
