Cops Looking For 'Elderly' Woman In Big Car With Deployed Airbags

State police are looking for an elderly woman in a big sedan who left an Ellington crash scene after a hitting a tree truck.

ELLINGTON, CT — State police are on the lookout for an elderly woman driving a older big sedan with deployed airbags who left the scene of a crash with a tree services truck on Route 83.

That was the description in a report from the Dec. 7 crash made available this week.

The crash took place at 3:08 p.m. on Route 83 near the Hoffman Road intersection, according to a report. The woman was driving a blue Mercury Marquis from the 2000s, according to witnesses documented in a report. State police said in a report that she rear-ended a truck owned by a tree service company that was making a left turn onto Hoffman.

The woman left the scene toward Somers, despite having both airbags deploy in the Marquis, according to a report. The Marquis sustained moderate to severe front end damage, according to a report.
