Crystal Lake to Keep Sandy Beach Open

As summer begins winding down, residents will be able to enjoy one of Ellington’s most treasured destinations for another week.

Sandy Beach at Crystal Lake had been scheduled to close at the end of Sunday, but officials have extended its availability through Friday.

“Due to the availability of a sufficient number of lifeguards and the projected ‘warm’ weather, we plan to open Sandy Beach (C.Lake) on Aug. 17-18-19-20-21 from 12-6 p.m.,” the Ellington Recreation Department announced.
