Dead Inmate Prompts Investigation at Somers Correctional Institute
Sonny Rivera, 27, of East Hartford was pronounced dead this morning. Police and DOC officials are investigating.
An inmate who was found unresponsive in his cell at Northern Correctional Institute in Somers has been pronounced dead.
Sonny Rivera, 27, of East Hartford was found unresponsive in his cell around 7:40 a.m. this morning, according to NBC Connecticut.
Staff attempted to revive Rivera without success. He was rushed to the hospital where he was pronounced dead an hour later. Police and Department of Correction officials are investigating.
