Dirt Bike Rider Hurt In Ellington Crash, State Police Say
Police said the rider was thrown from the dirt bike after the collision at Sadds Mill Road and Jobs Hill Road.
ELLINGTON, CT — A 19-year-old dirt bike rider was hurt in a crash Friday night at the intersection of Sadds Mill Road and Jobs Hill Road, according to state police.
The crash happened around 7:54 p.m. March 27, according to a Connecticut crash information summary.
Police said a Volkswagen Jetta was traveling east on Route 140 when it was struck by a dirt bike that was traveling west at the intersection. The 19-year-old rider was thrown from the bike and landed on the grassy shoulder, the report states.

Both vehicles had minor damage. The rider suffered suspected minor injuries but refused a trip to the hospital, according to the report.
Police said the dirt bike was unregistered and did not have head, rear, or signal lights. The rider also did not have a motorcycle endorsement on his Connecticut operator’s license, according to the report.

State police found the dirt bike rider at fault and issued an infraction for the violations, the report states.
