DOT Comments On Somers Gas Station Plans Could Come Soon
State transportation officials said comments on a Somers gas station proposal could come soon.

SOMERS, CT — Connecticut transportation officials on Thursday said they could be submitting formal comments within a week on a proposal to build a filling station and convenience store at the intersection of two busy state thoroughfares in Somers.
DOT spokesman Kevin Nursick said the traffic study is part of the state review process.
The site plan for a gas station at 595 Main Street has been approved and planning officials this week said a DOT report was the next step in the regulatory process. There is no formal timetable yet for construction, officials said.

The parcel sits at the northeast corner of the state Route 190-state Route 83 intersection, infamously known for a misalignment that restricts sightlines.
The site plan has already been revised to eliminate left turns at the would-be gas station, officials said.
