A man is accused of trying to run another driver off the road in an incident near Crystal Lake, state police said.

ELLINGTON, CT — A man is accused of trying to run another driver off the road in an incident near Crystal Lake, state police said.
The case dates back to May 1, when a woman told police someone tried to run her off the road on Route 30 near West Shore Drive, according to a warrant. A witness gave state police a similar account.
The warrant outlines testimony from the woman and the witness that another driver, identified as 20-year-old Joseph Bovino, of Manchester, followed her from a driveway onto Route 30, passed her and kept putting on his brakes once cutting in front of her.

A passerby then intervened and helped get the woman to a sfe spot along the road, according to a warrant.
Bovino was charged with illegally operating a motor vehicle to harass or intimidate, first-degree reckless endangerment and second-degree breach of peace, according to a warrant.

He was arrested Wednesday, appeared in court later that day, and his initial $25,000 bond was reduced to a promise to appear, judicial system records indicate. He is due back in court on June 19, records show.
