Registered voters in Somers were the afternoon leaders in the clubhouse in terms of percentages heading to the polls on Tuesday for the 2016 election.

As of 3:01 p.m., 62.73 percent of the 5,979 eligible voters, or 3,746, had already cast their ballots. The number at noon was 52 percent.

The state average at noon was 29 percent, Secretary of the State Denise Merrill said.
