The single biggest issue in town is ______, and I plan to do this about it:

I think there are a lot of issues facing our schools in Ellington. Over recent years I have become very concerned with teacher turnover. I’d like to open communication with our teachers and find out why they’re leaving. Ellington should be a town that keeps our great teachers and attracts more great teachers.

Critical differences between me and my opponents:

I believe that all of our candidates have the best interests of our students at heart. The Board of Education in particular should be a place where political party is put aside for the best education we can give our kids.

Accomplishments:

As a parent of a recent EHS graduate and a current high school freshman, I have a lot of knowledge of our schools. I’ve also spent many hours volunteering in the schools as a parent. Before I had my kids, and I was an AmeriCorps volunteer in an early childhood care center.

Other issues:

Other important issues to me include transparency between administration and parents, especially regarding COVID; making sure our graduating seniors are prepared for their futures, whether they are going to college, trade school, and the work force or anything else; and making sure Ellington Schools are inclusive and welcoming to all our students and families.
