Ellington and Somers' Workweek Forecast Includes Chance of Thunderstorms

We enjoyed a summer-like day on Sunday with temperatures in the upper 80s, well it’s back-to-reality this morning with temperatures that are about 10 degrees cooler on Monday.

For the work week forecast it looks stormy and unstable for Monday and Tuesday but starting on Wednesday and continuing through the upcoming Memorial Day weekend, the weather looks amazing with plenty of sunshine and late spring-like temps.

On Monday, there will be partly cloudy skies and heavy rain at night. Tuesday will be rainy with a chance of thunderstorms during the day and an additional chance of showers in the evening.

On Monday the high temp will be in the upper 60s and on Tuesday it rises into the low 70s.

But starting on Wednesday the forecast calls for nothing but sunshine running through Sunday with temps near 70 degrees - or a little above - each day.

Today: Partly sunny, with a high near 75. East wind 8 to 11 mph becoming south in the afternoon.

Tonight: A chance of showers after 4am. Mostly cloudy, with a low around 54. Southeast wind 3 to 7 mph. Chance of precipitation is 30%. New precipitation amounts of less than a tenth of an inch possible.

Tuesday: Showers and thunderstorms before 2pm, then showers likely and possibly a thunderstorm between 2pm and 4pm, then a chance of showers and thunderstorms after 4pm. Some of the storms could produce heavy rain. Areas of fog before 9am. High near 73. South wind 5 to 7 mph. Chance of precipitation is 90%. New rainfall amounts between a tenth and quarter of an inch, except higher amounts possible in thunderstorms.

Tuesday Night: A chance of showers, mainly before 10pm. Mostly cloudy, with a low around 52. Southwest wind around 7 mph becoming northwest after midnight. Chance of precipitation is 30%. New precipitation amounts of less than a tenth of an inch possible.

Wednesday: Mostly sunny, with a high near 67. Northwest wind 8 to 15 mph, with gusts as high as 25 mph.

Wednesday Night: Partly cloudy, with a low around 42.

Thursday: Mostly sunny, with a high near 71.

Thursday Night: Partly cloudy, with a low around 47.

Friday: Sunny, with a high near 74.

Friday Night: Mostly clear, with a low around 45.

Saturday: Sunny, with a high near 71.

Saturday Night: Mostly clear, with a low around 46.

Sunday: Sunny, with a high near 80.
