Ellington Baseball Jumps into Top 5 of Weekly Poll

The Knights finished regular season play with a 19-1 record.

ELLINGTON, CT — Amity Regional maintained its season-long hold on first place in the weekly high school baseball poll, but two other teams earned the top spots on some ballots.

Amity (18-2) was the top pick of five of nine ballots cast, with Tolland collecting three first-place votes and Ellington one.

Ellington (19-1) moved up two spots to the number five position in the latest balloting.

  3. East Lyme (18-2)
  4. Tolland (17-2)
  5. Ellington (19-1)

  8. Fairfield Prep (16-4)
  9. New Milford (16-4)
  10. Ridgefield (15-5)

Also receiving votes: Westhill (17-3), Wilton (15-4), Wethersfield (15-5), Branford (15-5), Lewis Mills (17-3), Northwest Catholic (15-5), East Catholic (15-5), St. Paul (16-4), Southington (15-5), Masuk (15-5), Lyman Memorial (18-2), Oxford (17-3), New Canaan (13-7).
