Ellington Center Will Be Hopping With Activity Mothers' Day Weekend

Opening day of the Ellington Farmers' Market, a Flea Market at Nellie McKnight Museum and Fair on the Green provide lots to see and do.

The center of Ellington will be hopping with activities on Saturday, May 7th with three major events taking place, all within walking distance from each other.

Mothers' Day Market, the opening Day of the Ellington Farmers Market takes place from 9 am-noon in the quaint country setting of Arbor Park. The market features over 40 vendors with locally farm-raised meats, dairy, eggs, produce, plants and cut flowers, seafood, baked goods including vegan and gluten-free, ready to eat prepared foods and specialty foods. Bath and body products and artisan wares round out the variety of items available. The market doubles SNAP benefits and live music is performed throughout the morning. The annual Flea Market at the Nellie McKnight Museum, 70 Main St. from 9am-3pm. The event features over 20 flea market vendors plus loads of vintage and new items at flea market prices from the Ellington Historical Society. You can also tour the 1812 house museum and new photo exhibit "A Historical Survey of Early Ellington", the "Farm Exhibit" and shop Nellie's Mercantile and the Vintage Wares Barn. Backroads Smoking BBQ will be on site.

Across the street in the town green, the Ellington Womens' Club's annual "Fair on the Green" takes place from 9am-3pm. The fair features a wide variety of locally handcrafted items from 50 vendors perfect for unique Mothers' Day gifts. Children can stop by the kid's craft table and make beautiful cards for Moms.
