Ellington Farmers Market Joins Sustainable CT

The Ellington Farmers Market is launching its first-ever crowdfunding campaign to raise money for this year's Farmers Feeding Families program. If $7500 is raised from 75 different donors, Sustainable CT will match the full $7500.

Support of this program has incredible power to uplift low-income seniors and WIC recipients through a unique initiative at the Ellington Farmers Market. The Ellington Farmers Market doubles the value of Farmers Market Nutrition Program (FMNP) vouchers assuring greater accessibility to fresh produce, eggs, honey, and an array of locally sourced goods that will impact the lives of vulnerable community members.

The Ellington Farmers Market relies on the community's collective support to raise every dollar necessary for operations and essential food insecurity programs. The market is a 501c3 non-profit corporation. Donations are tax-deductible.

In 2023 with the community's unwavering support, over $14,000 was distributed in vouchers to purchase healthy market foods. The Market looks to increase that distribution in 2024.
