Ellington High School Takes Second In Final Boys Soccer Poll

The Knights had their hopes for a sixth state championship dashed by Cinderella team Plainville in the Class M finals.

ELLINGTON, CT — A disappointing championship game defeat at the hands of unheralded Plainville not only left Ellington as Class M boys soccer runner-up, but also put them second behind the Blue Devils in the final Class M-S coaches poll for 2018.

The Knights, the No. 1 seed following an undefeated regular season, received a first-place vote from one coach in the final balloting.

Class LL champion Glastonbury, which won its second straight title by knocking off No. 2 Hall in the championship game, was the top vote-getter in Classes LL-L.
