Ellington- As the community enters the new year, the Ellington Historical Society is looking toward the future. The Society has announced its first meeting of the year, scheduled for Tuesday, Jan. 6, at 6:15 PM in the Children’s Room of the Hall Memorial Library.
The session is designed as a collaborative strategy meeting to build a vibrant and impactful 2026 calendar. The Society aims to "dream big" for the upcoming year, with an agenda focused on several key pillars of their mission:
- Historical Exhibits: Brainstorming new themes and displays to showcase Ellington’s unique heritage.
- Community Events: Planning engaging programs and local fundraisers.
- Outreach Initiatives: Finding fresh ways to connect with neighbors and preserve the town's shared stories.
- 2026 Event & Meeting Schedule: Setting the roadmap for the Society's yearly activities.
The Society emphasizes that this meeting is open to the entire community. Whether a long-time member, a local history enthusiast, or a resident simply looking to become more involved in the town, all are welcome to attend.
"The best vision for our town’s history comes from the diverse perspectives of the people who live here," the Society stated, noting that all community input is highly appreciated.
