The Farm Exhibit at the Nellie McKnight Museum features the history of Ellington farming and will be open from 10am-3pm. Live chicks will be hatching at the Hall Memorial Library where kids can also create a chicken-themed craft. Oakridge Dairy and the Modern Milkman will be sharing information on modern-day dairy farming and Greenwood Holistic Farm will share information on raising cattle, pigs, and chickens using the principles of regenerative farming. DeCarli’s Equestrian Center will be open for tours and Hillside Stable is offering pony rides and sharing information on riding lessons and boarding opportunities.
Be sure to visit the quaint farm store at Johnny Appleseed’s Farm for freshly picked apples, the Back to Roots Vegetable stand for a variety of veggies, and pick up some hardy chrysanthemums at Back to Roots Mums. Stop at Dzen Garden Market for farm-fresh products and take advantage of their two-for-one small ice cream cone offer. Ellington-raised beef can be found at Charter Acres Farm and Star Hardware.
