Ellington Man Charged with Road Rage — Against the Road Itself

An Ellington man has been charged for a rage against his road.

ELLINGTON, CT — A man who lives alongside Crystal Lake has been charged in a road rage incident — against the road itself, an arrest report indicates.

At 6:24 p.m. on Friday, state police were called to Hotel Lake Road, a tributary private road leading from West Shore Road to lakeside homes.

Callers said a man was driving up and down the road in a pickup truck, causing damage to the surface, according to an arrest report.

When troopers arrived, they questioned 71-year-old Casmir Spytek and Spytek said it was all intentional because he is mad at the town for not maintaining the road, according to an arrest report.

Spytek was charged with breach of peace and second-degree criminal mischief. He posted a $500 bond and is due in court on Sept. 27, according to an arrest report.
